Fine artist Annette Alessi defines her job as an artist “to open the heart of another.” Her current oil paintings feature stunning landscapes and glimpses of flowers and animals that evoke a sense of wonder.

Annette began her career as a fashion illustrator, and after starting her family, she discovered the fine arts and then pursued additional training, studying with Karl Kuerner, a protege of Andrew Wyeth.

Her diverse body of work, which includes figure drawings, book illustrations and commissioned portraits, has exhibited widely throughout the Brandywine Valley and been featured in numerous published collections and exhibitions. Annette teaches private classes and has lead Paint Along and other programs through the Chester County Arts Association.

“There is a story behind each piece as I move through my journey of life. The contrast in light attracts me, whether it be in a portrait or in a landscape. Nature and the human form are my biggest inspiration.  I enjoy watching the reaction of art lovers as they view my works.  It brings me joy to bring someone happiness from the gift of my art.  It is truly a gift from God. Art is a passion of the Heart. It’s up to the individual to use it, and to share it with others.”- Annette Alessi
