Helena van Emmerik-Finn lives in Bucks County, Pa. and loves to roam the surrounding countryside on both sides of the Delaware River to find the subjects for her pastels and oils. Animals, flowers and farms give her a variety of  choices. Working both plein-air and in the studio, she tries to capture that opportune moment when the light reveals her motif at its best.

Helena studied at The Philadelphia College of Art and participated in workshops with Daniel Greene and June Maxwell. A pastel artist for forty-five years, she has been an active participant in pastel’s revival as a serious medium. Her favorite subjects are animals and landscapes of Bucks County.  Her work has appeared on the 2005 Bucks Beautiful Garden Poster for the Bucks County Chamber of Commerce and she has won prizes in numerous plein-air festivals in Bucks County.
