  Haverford, PA artist Lidia Kohutiak was born in Ukraine and spent her early years in Europe and South America before arriving in the United States.  She has a Master's Degree in French Literature with emphasis on literary analysis and criticism

.

  She was always fascinated by art.  From an early age she was attracted to drawing and painting.  Visiting museums and galleries became an inspiration for developing a passion for artistic expression.  Her inspiration came from artists such as Anders Zorn, Joaquin Sorolla, John Singer Sargent, Daniel Gerhartz and others.

  After raising a family she joined the Main Line Art Center in Haverford and the Wayne Art Center where she studied with well-known artists such as Ellen Cooper, Garth Herrick, Alexandra Tyng, Paul du Sold, Peter Schaumann, Ernie Norcia, Giovanni Casadei, Christine La Fuente and Frances Galante.

  She has exhibited extensively in a number of solo, juried and invitational exhibitions.  She has done numerous commissions and is in many private collections in a number of states.  She paints quickly in a loose and painterly style with emphasis on light and color.  She finds beauty and poetry in nature, in human faces and in the human condition.  Her award winning oil paintings include portraits, still life, landscapes and architecture.
