The image is printed using archival inks on a sheet of acid-free fine art paper with a suitably sized white border around the image site sized to fit a standard frame. Available in two sizes: 10x10 inch image size on a 11x14 inch sheet, and 14x14 inches on a 16x20 inch sheet. It is also is available framed in the 14x14 inch format. Framed prints include the style framing shown.
The painting depicts the artists wearing a pumpkin for a head.
“I had been elected to the National Academy of Design in New York, and one of the requirements was that you give a portrait, a self-portrait of yourself. Well, I didn’t want to do myself in a self-portrait, but I love pumpkins. It’s the sinisterness, the Halloween I’ve always loved. It’s a little bit edgy. So I did it and of course they were furious and rejected it.”
