...Boling Rogers enlisted to serve during the war of the revolution, about the fifteenth of July in the year 1778 (as well as he remembers) in the county of Henrico in the state of Virginia in the company commanded by Captain Joseph Scott in the regiment commanded by Colonel William Davis [sic: William Davies BLWt597-500] in the line of the state of Virginia ___ regiment, on continental establishment; That he continued to serve in said Corps under various changes of officers until some time in the year 1782 (as well as he remembers) ...he was not engaged in any of the memorable battles of the revolution though he was in many skirmishes & was in the whole of the siege of York (Town) from its commencement to the surrender of Cornwallis...
