I live in Chadds Ford, PA and do most of my shooting in my home studio and the surrounding area of the Brandywine Valley.

Brief background: I learned black and white darkroom work many years ago, photographing only for pleasure. As family came and grew, I closed the darkroom and put away my cameras. This might have been the end of the story, however, the digital imaging revolution began. On discovering that a digital camera and Photoshop would allow me to do in color in minutes what took ages in the darkroom in black and white, I returned to photography.

As my wife’s clothing design business grew, I began doing fashion photography for her ads and website. Working with fashion models in the studio setting kindled an interest in arranged compositions which led to my current work in still life. With both models and still lifes, I try to capture beauty in all its guises of shape, texture and color. My inspiration comes from classical painting both in its original form and as interpreted by photographers such as Jan Sudek and Robert Mapplethorpe.
